The CV0204DVR is an example of SVAT's feature packed digital
video recorders. This complete system incorporates 4 out of
doors CCD cameras and can display all 4 ( quad view ) at the
same time. Customise the recording and set a 24-hour recording
schedule based primarily on your preferences. And since each
camera is supplied with night vision, you can view and record
in total darkness! This DVR can record 4 different camera
perspectives ( quad view ) concurrently and play it back at a
smooth thirty frames per second.
Finding your recorded photos is a breeze. Everything is
stored on the DVR's internal 160GB drive permitting you weeks
of recording. The DVR can be set to overwrite old photos when
the drive does run out of space, permitting you constant
recording, year after year. The CV0204DVR also has a built-in
web server for remote viewing.

Exceeded my expectations
By Uwood2
We recently purchased and installed the SVAT web ready DVR
system at our place of business after being hit by thieves and
vandals. The night vision cameras were unbelievably bright in a
dimly lit area.
Some of the features I like about this unit is of course the
night vision cameras, the ability to view the cameras over the
internet, the ability to record continuously or as motion
sensors.
This unit was well worth the money. We have not been
burglarized or vandalized since installing these. The presence
is an excellent deterent. HOWEVER, If they come back -- We are
ready!

Great product for the money!
By Joe (york, pa)
I bought this product about 3 weeks ago, I set the whole
system up and had everything up and running in about two hours
(includes hanging cameras and running wires). I really like the
webserver part of this product so that I can watch while I am
away.
The only the problem I had was the night vision was not
working in one of the cameras. So I called SVAT and asked them
about replacing the camera, they had no problem doing that but
suggested we test the camera firt and make sure it was not the
cable. Long story short it was the cable and they sent a new
cable to me only thing I had to show them was proof of reciept.
Very good customer service.
If you want decent quality cameras with web ready service
and don't want to spend much, Buy these!

I install lots of these
By L. Haycock
I install video surveillance systems and a few years back I
started seeing SVAT units. Since then I have installed many of
them with no problems. They are not high end units but are
perfect for home and small business. The DVR does generate ALOT
of heat so needs good air circulation.
The night vision is ok, 10 foot max without some other sort
of ambient lighting but the cameras are good in low light so
just a regular porchlight is plenty to light most of a yard and
keep the camera from going to B/W mode. Need install in Kern
County CA area by licensed contractor? contact me:

Choosing Your Home Security
Camera
If you want added security and surveillance for your home,
nothing beats having home security cameras installed to keep an
eye on your
property. Countless other
homeowners have realized this and have bought their own
security cameras. With all your options for a home security
camera nowadays, though, picking just one is a rather daunting
challenge. You'll have to face that challenge eventually in
order to get the benefits that a home security camera offers.
The selection process can actually be made easier by keeping in
mind some of the factors that play a role in how you use your
cameras.
Shooting on Location
The location and position of your home security camera will
play a very big role in determining what kind of unit you'll
get. Each kind of environment is better suited to certain kinds
of cameras, and using another kind would be either excessive or
pointless.
Outdoor security cameras, for example, usually require added
protection in the form of body reinforcement or a hard metal
shell. This is to keep the recording equipment from being
damaged by vandals and by the weather. However, you might want
to stick to a black and white camera if you're putting it
outdoors. Such security cameras are able to get better images
in low light than their full-color counterparts.
If you are installing your home security camera indoors, on
the other hand, you can forego the added protection for the
camera. In exchange, you might want to get a camera that
records video in full color to give you more detailed images.
Getting a model that can swivel on its mount would also be a
good idea, to give you wider coverage.
Home Security Camera: Wired or Wireless?
This is one of the more pressing questions that many a
consumer has asked in the past few years. With wireless
technology becoming ever cheaper and more available, an
increasing number of home security camera models have begun
having wireless connectivity as a feature. Should you jump on
the wire-free bandwagon as well? Your best answer to that
question will depend heavily on your usage of your home
security camera.
A wireless home security camera would be best if you plan to
install the security camera system indoors yourself. Because
there are no wires, setup is made considerably easier. It's the
better option if you're just going to be inside the house, you
want to DIY the installation and you plan to replace it in the
near future with a better model.
Wired security cameras are more appropriate for outdoor
installations. That's because wireless technology tends to go
awry when there's a great distance involved, and even more so
when inclement weather like rain gets in the way of the signal.
There's a very good chance that you'll need professional help
in installing them, so your wired cameras have to be more or
less permanent.
Buying a home security camera isn't just a mere purchase;
it's an investment for the safety and security of your property
and all who live there. It requires careful planning as well as
a thorough knowledge about your needs and which products will
satisfy them.
