Reporter Wireless Alert System #RWA-300R

I recently bought the Wireless Alert System #RWA-300R, as a driveway alarm after a few minor thefts and one instance of vandalism on my property. Apparently someone in the neighborhood found it amusing to steal a few of our lawn ornaments.

The good points of the rwa-300r

I have fallen in love with this unit. The security function aside i love having that three minute heads up before my next door neighbor knocks at my front door, the unit is mounted under the roofline of a structure between the street and my home and has not failed to alert me when someone approaches my driveway.

In addition to the unit being very accurate, as far as picking up vehicles and people, it has given me no false alarms. Initially when i was setting the unit up i had a hard time locating the units because of the length of my driveway, so finding the correct balance was a little tricky, but it all worked out.

A really convenient feature is a little button on the receiver that will disable the unit when someone is working in the area, or in my case when the kids are playing in the area of the sensor.

Cool features

Another really cool feature, that i don’t believe was talked about in the training manual, is the relay connection on the side of the unit. What is great about this is that you can
Add on other devices that compliment the driveway alarm. For instance if you live in an area where the problem is deer or raccoon, you could add something to startle and scare them away...noise maker or flood light etc. I chose to use my relay connection to hook up a covert camera to my system... in my part of town the animals walk on two legs not four.

Things that can be improved

The driveway alarm sensor unit needs better water proofing. This product is intended to monitor your driveway, last time i checked my driveway was on the outside.
This oversight limits the locations that you can safely place the driveway sensor unit, but if you are creative there is always a way.

All things considered i think that buying the driveway alarm was a smart decision on my part, and if it can stop these thefts, before they escalate, it will have paid for itself many times over. Very good buy.
