Information you can trust on
Surveillance Cameras
Securing your property against dangers
like burglars and other criminals is a brilliant idea,
whether you live in what you think is a safe
neighborhood or not.
One of the best paths to protecting your property is to use
surveillance cameras, strategically placed around your house
based primarily on the amount of real estate you are trying to
cover. These systems can be bought with as many cameras as you
may need, and are available in both wireless or wired
formats.
The signal for wireless cameras will be despatched to a
receiver, that will be hooked up to whatever hardware you are
using to observe the grounds. How many cameras you purchase
will rely, naturally, on the dimensions of your house or if you
have any high value possessions in a particular room. If you
need maximum security, you'll need to mount cameras to cover
all the entrances to your primary living spaces, including the
windows, as well as the garage and drive, at a minimum.
Extra rooms containing valuable electronic equipment or
pieces of furniture should also have a mounted camera for added
security. Keep in mind that all the Surveillance cameras in the
world are absolutely worthless, without a monitoring system of
some sort.
You want to decide if your security camera system is going
to be used overtly for preventing theft or covertly to help in
the recovery of property or identifying suspects. Most vandals
and burglars will be discouraged by the mere sight of a camera
mounted on a house, regardless of film depictions of cat
burglars disabling security cameras with a stick of chewing gum
and a hairclip.
The mere presence of the camera will give your home 100
percent more protection than a house without a camera system.
If maximum security is what you need, then you or somebody you
know will have to be monitoring your system during the day.
Mega mansions of rich families may be in a position to employ
security guards full-time, except that for many of us the main
purpose of the surveillance hardware will be to help in the
recovery and identifying of suspects.
Ensure that your monitoring equipment is always on and you
either reset the tape manually or have the system set to reset
itself. Without correctly functioning and monitoring system,
your surveillance apparatus is only a drain on your resources.
Take the time to install your cameras correctly, checking the
angel to make certain they cover all the points of entry or
objects you need observed.
Cameras which track motion or otherwise can swing to
encompass a wide area are great options, though they may tip
off to a burglar the area being monitored at that moment.
Hidden Cameras
Did you ever think that a wall clock could look after your
home? They can if they just happen to be the type which has
some hidden concealed cameras in them. Who would ever think
that the clock on the wall or that smoke detector had a camera
in it They come in wireless model too, so you can place them
anywhere that they're required. Either way, keeping your home
under surveillance without any one else knowing it, becomes a
straightforward matter. These tiny beauties even immediately
switch from color to black and white in low light scenarios,
and the range of the wireless models can be as much as one
thousand feet.
OK, so you actually don't have any interest in undercover
operations, but lets just say you're a single lady living alone
or with another girl for a roommate.
Would you simply answer a doorbell without knowing who was
there? Not if you are smart you will not. There are undercover
concealed cameras that fit into the standard peep hole in your
door. With a dazzling 170 degree viewing angle, you don't have
to take the risk of opening the door to that stranger, who
might just be a rapist, a killer or burglar on the
lookout for an easy score.
