Chamberlain Reporter RIFMS2 Wireless Flush-Mounted Intercom
Average Rating:

Wireless gate access control & intercom system, Secure communication between elements up to one thousand ft,
Digital lucidity at any range, Water- & condensation-proof, Oppressive environment- / weather-tolerant, Up to
five years battery life, Mounts flat on drywall with easy installation, Pairs immediately with 1-button push.
Range and lucidity are amazing inside and around our 3750 square foot home. I originally purchased 2, and my man
and I use them to speak between upstairs and downstairs. I purchased a 2nd pair so we would be able to put one in
the bedroom and one at the front door so we are able to make a response to the doorbell ( together with viewing
who's there on an IP camera ) from some place else in the house.

Very Good Product I am VERY Happy
By Michael L. Emerson "King Emerson"
I am not the owner of the company and have no stock or stake in the company, what I am about to tell you is 100%
true. I read several reviews and even called a few dealers and heard only good things about this product.
The sound is very clear, it is easy to install (about 15 min each) and works exactly as promised. I also bought
the door bell and main unit intercoms and they work great also. I paid about $220.00 for all four units, with tax
and shipping.
Only problem is that I had a hard time making them all work together but after I called their free 1-800 number
(included in the directions) they walked me through the process, they have worked perfectly ever since.
The only thing I am not sure of is the battery life, they promised 6 months to 1 year and we will see (only had
them for a month so far), if the batteries last as they promise then this would be the best wireless intercom
product in the World in my opinion. I did check out the Westinghouse competing product before and I was VERY
UN-happy.

LOVE THESE! GREAT CLARITY IN VOICE OVER THE SPEAKERS
By Kathi Orgeron "blind-siamese"
Bought these to put one in the house and one in hubby's workshop on the other side of the yard.
Didn't have to cut into any wallboard to flush mount these intercom sets--we went to the 99-cent store and
bought cheap frames whose dimensions fit the backs of these intercom units. If the frame you find is not deep
enough for the unit plus the battery pack on the back, buy two 99-cent frames for each unit, then glue the two
frames together. Wow! Got a great looking wall-mount intercom that can easily be taken off the wall for battery
replacement, to use it temporarily in another location, mount it in another place, etc.
The clarity of voice that comes out of the speakers is great! NO fast-food speakers here--these have very clear,
understandable sound transmission. Highly recommend!

Awesome Product.
By Terri Ferro "terri"
I had two of these and just bought two more. They rock. Perfect sound and clarity across the house. We just
moved to a new house and pulled the two we had right out of the wall and filled up the hole with drywall and
spackle. No need to unhook wires and all that. Love these.
They are great for parents who get sick of going upstairs or across the house to talk to the kids when they are
in their rooms with the door closed and music on or what have you. If you want an intercom system, these are
perfect. And the batteries haven't died since we got our first set Dec 2006. They supposedly last 3 years or so.
Just D batteries.
One con is that when make your first inquiry to talk it blasts to every intercom in the house. When the person
you are wanting to talk to responds back from the other intercom, it then becomes a two way conversation, but if
you have one in a room where someone is napping, they are going to hear that first inquiry. Hope this makes
sense.

Don't give up on it. Once you get it going, sound is clear!
By Rizzo (Denver, CO)
The intercom set is specifically for "cutting holes in the wall". That's ok, if it is your intention. However, I
was looking for the outside door unit, and I cannot cut a hole into brick. In searching for a quality, clear
sounding intercom system, I was willing to pay little more.
The intercom units must be "taught" to each other to form an intercom network. So you need to hold down buttons
simultaneously, etc. etc. It may help if you have another person so you can separate the two units while trying to
get it to work. There are four channels and if you need another intercom, it is compatible. The sound is clear
without interference. It seems to cover the 1000 limit. I tested the sound throughout a huge yard and it works.
Don't get too frustrated with getting this going. Instructions are only as good as whoever wrote them. So you
will be challenged. I was seriously about to give up. So I offered the challenge to my husband and promised that if
he got it working, he would earn the title "chief tech of the house!" He did it with less frustration than I had
and was about to give up too! It works! Rizzo

Have You Discovered Home Intercoms
The lord of the estate or the big man of the house, when rung up by his guests, languidly greets them from his
bedroom using the intercom system. It’s a movie scene staple, designed to show opulence and
convenience at its utmost. But using a home intercom holds many more possibilities than just looking like some rich
guy from the silver screen. You can get all that and more – yes, including the rich guy look – when you get home
intercoms.
Varied Places, Various Uses
Although it might already seem a bit cliché, the most common use of the intercom is still to alert you of guests
who want to see you. Whether you’re looking at an apartment building or a sprawling mansion, there’s an intercom to
bridge that huge distance between host and guest.
In such cases, you get not only convenience but safety as well. No longer do you have to go outside to greet
your visitor. You don’t even have to take a peep at the gate just to verify that you indeed know the person who’s
calling. All you need to do is press a button and you get to speak to your visitor without exposing yourself to
unnecessary risk.
Home intercoms have a use within the premises as well. If you have a large or multistory house, it gets very
difficult to communicate with someone on the other side or from another level without resorting to shouting. Home
intercoms solve that problem by giving you and your family a much easier way to communicate from various parts of
the house. Now nobody need be out of hearing distance of one another.
That last feature is especially important if you’re taking care of an infant or the elderly. They don’t have the
ability to shout or call out for you when they need you, but a home intercom will let you know when they do. It
becomes much easier to keep an eye on everyone.
Home Intercom Forms and Features
Because the home intercom has become such a popular consumer device, there are now many variants for you to
choose from. Nowadays, your selection is much wider than those plain white voice-only intercom boxes you often see
in offices.
You can now get devices like video intercoms that let you and the other person see each other. Many home
telephones – both the corded and cordless variety – now feature an integrated intercom feature between handsets.
Portable dedicated intercom devices are also now available, allowing everybody to move freely yet remain connected.
There’s really no shortage of variants and choices for a home intercom fro you.
It might seem like a luxury, but a home intercom offers convenience that often goes overlooked. You’ll only
notice the benefits when you realize that you didn’t have to stand up to answer the door anymore, or that you
weren’t required to shout to tell something to the person upstairs. With a home intercom system installed in your
house, distance is no longer a barrier to communication.
